process of water burial

As the reference of water burial process are all recorded in words without pictures, I and Tina have an experience of the water burial on our own.

So the first step is to wash the deceased with the water from river or lake. It will hold at hoome, washed by the most close family member to the deceased.

Secondly, the deceased will be tired as the position of baby, and I tired Tina with carlico in the same pose to show the baby sitting pose.

After this, the deceased will be cover by a long white cotton fabric with no showing any skin, which is shown in the photo.

Then depends on what ethnic is, a few ethnics have the culture to keep the dease at home for a year then burial but most of ethnics burial at once the body has been covered by the white fabric. So it is the time for taoist priest or lama to hold the funeral. The taoist priest or lama will carry the deceased on the their back and go to the water burial stage.

After the deceased and Lama arrive at the water burial stage, lama will start chanting and fishes will come to wait to be feed by the dead body. it is quite drama, but in religion, they believe that those fishes are the representation of god and they only eat dead people and will never attack alive people.

Thus once the chanting is finished, the dead person whill be tired with a big stone and put inside the button of river. and then fishes will start eating the body as an ending process of the burial.
